Senior Class Officer Love

Newly elected Senior Class Officers - May 2010

Sister Ward's Farewell - December 2012

Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend Sister Danielle Ward's missionary farewell. She was called to the Billings, Montana mission and will be a superb (danYell lingo) missionary.
Danielle is one of the most amazing people I've ever met. Truly, words can not describe this girl. She is so loving and kind to everyone. EVERYONE. That is not an understatement. DanYell can and does make anyone and everyone she knows feel like a million bucks.
I had the opportunity to serve as a Senior Class Officer with her my last year of highschool.
The four of us (class officers) became extremely close, and I love each of these girls dearly.
I am so proud of all that they are and all that they are becoming. Somehow I know that the four of us will always remain in contact and be able to pick up right where we left off.

Sister Ward is off to serve the Lord and I could not be more proud of her! See you in 18, Danielle.

Self Portrait

I'm taking photography this semester. Finally.

My first assignment is a self portrait.

Obviously this is not the greatest angle for my poor thighs, but this is my self portrait.

The letters represent my greatest goal and focus in my life right now. Cameron.
The location is my home. Or, just behind it. The hills behind my house.
I pretty much wear the pearls everyday and sunflowers are my favorite flower. Ever.

It's not much of an artist statement, but this is only my first assignment. I can't wait until my professor teaches me how to edit this as well as learn all the basics of photography.

Maybe I'll start taking pictures again.

Happy Last Day of School

Here are two pictures from my last day of my first year of college.

Nothing says "happy last day of finals" like a yummy smoothie for the road.

This sign means that school is over & I love it.

Today was my LAST day of school! I took my last final at 11:00 am & by 12:30 Lina and I were
on the road back home giddy about the great things to come this summer.
SUMMER. just the thought makes me so ridicously happy.
On Monday I will officially be full time. 40 hours a week baby.

This summer I plan to read read read, take lots of pictures, train for TOU, work like none other, enjoy way too many snow cones, get sunburns, paint my toe nails, ace my summer math class (now there's a story), save money, go swimming, drive miles & miles with my windows down, move into a new house, buy a new bedroom set, go to bees games, try tofu, have lots & lots of fires, volunteer for the Romney campaign, go fishing, go hiking, vote in the June primaries, go to institute, paint, & get ready for the return of my missionary this fall. THIS FALL.

Summer is going to be fantastic. I have so much to look forward to in the coming months & I know that the busier I am, the faster Cameron's return will be. I can not wait :)

Cheers to summer!

Study Guides & Frozen Lemonade

Lina & I spend our Friday nights surrounded by flashcards and notes.
We are determined to ace our bio final. We will, just you watch, no matter how badly
our professor want us to fail.
B&B makes for a perfect studying habitat
(habitat - environment in which organisms live. See, I'm going to ace this final).

The Essentials:

Happy finals week, world.
I'll just be over here with my flash cards, peanuts, & hot chocolate.
Don't mind my pony tail and stress acne.

My Professor is Cuter Than Yours

You know how everyone tells you that in college professors don't care about you? Supposedly they just give you work and don't even bother to learn your name...Ya, that's a lie.
This guy, right here, Professor Abdrisaev is one of the greatest teachers I've ever had. Not because he is super challenging or super easy, but rather, because he opens doors for his students. He dreams big and pushes his students to achieve those dreams.
He's my international relations professor who used to work at the Department of State. Ya, he's legit.
Yesterday in class he presented certificates to me, mara, and lina for our involvement with a conference he was in charge of. But he didn't just present us with the certificates, he wanted pictures, & then he emailed them to us. He is just such a cute & caring man. He is quite funny too...When the projector wasn't working the other day he suggested the KGB had something to do with it. And when a group of students is talking amongst themselves he says that we don't allow separatists. Maybe it's just poly sci humor, but I laugh so hard at these silly jokes. I really love this guy and have loved his class!

And yes, I did just write a whole post about my professor. Deal with it.

Beans and Brews & Jenga

Biology may be the death of me. That or geology. Have I ever mentioned how ridiculous science classes are? Because they are. I think it has something to do with the crazy professors teaching said courses, but that's another post for another day...Anyways, in order to prepare for my looming Bio final my friend Lina and I have decided to study our heads off. The best place to study? Beans and Brews, hands down. Yummy hot chocolate, comfy seats, and perfect music to ace your final. I highly recommend staking out your local B&B.

After our study session we hung out with some of Lina's friends from work for a  game night. 6 men and Jenga may just be the greatest thing I've ever seen. I'm pretty sure the stress of our final Jenga game took five years off my life expectancy, but no worries, it was a blast.

College is pretty great.

Sweet 16

okay okay...sweet sixteen was actually about 2 weeks ago. But I have been so busy with midterms I put off this post until now. But hey, that means two more weeks until the next mile stone. I
 can live with that.

Cameron has been gone for....SIXTEEN MONTHS! holy wow. 16.
and that means only 8 months left. (this sunday will be 7 more fast sundays)

February was a toughy, but it's over and march awaits. And each month is one less until october, and I can't wait. (but I will )

Things From Today: January 10, TWO THOUSAND TWELVE!

I absolutely love that it is 2012. I don't feel like this needs any explanation, but I've been waiting fourteen months to say "he comes home THIS year." And he does.

But that's all off topic.

Today was my first day of school for the spring semester. AND it was great! Really great actually.

Perhaps one of the best things about my new schedule is that I start class at 8:30 and finish by 2:15...Which means I'm home by 3, instead of 8:30 like last semester! It's so nice to still have the afternoon to do homework or be lazy (more often the latter). It feels like a normal school day again and I love it. As great as it was to start class at 11:30, it just was not practical for me or my schedule. Guess it takes a semester to learn the tricks.

My classes are really great as well. I have extra credit opportunities in all but one and (seemingly) great professors. My international relations political science class is full of poly sci majors and true debaters. My kind of people. It is going to be a great class. My professor is from some Asian country (I couldn't understand where he said he was from...but I got that he was Asian. Hopefully I'll be able to understand him better soon!) and worked for the US government in D.C. He's legit. I am so excited. Surprisingly, the other class I am stoked about is Ethics and Values...a required philosophy class. How did I know it would be a great class? Before we started my professor turned on Fox news. (Secretly informing us that he is a conservative. A nice change in an overly liberal college atmosphere.) Then we learned that we would be required to watch 1 1/2 hours of commentary each week. (Hello meet the press and Bill O'Reily) Then he made fun of the ridiculous occupy wall street movement and participants. He is my kind of guy. I can't wait for class discussions and our projects. I am so excited for his class.

Call me a nerd...but school was great today and I have a great feeling that this will be a fantastic semester.

Hell Week

Hell week, is over.
This is one happy girl.
Three weeks of complete bliss.
Sweaters, a Birthday, Christmas, a Phone Call...and so much more.

natural hair and a giant sweater...lazy days are here to stay (at least for three weeks).

Okay an update...tomorrow will be the first day since I posted my hair-cry post that I will use a heating tool on my hair. I have a big work party tomorrow night and need to look some what decent. I'm excited to have a hair-doo again and to get all dressed up.

Things are looking good post-semester one.
