Today

I went into my boss' cuby today and cried. She cried too.
It's been that kind of a week.

I truly am so grateful for the amazing people I work with and under.

They are my greatest friends and I love them dearly.

Happiness Is...

Okay, today I am doing a 'Sara' post. If you don't know sara you should know she is a lovely friend of mine who took a challenge this year to keep a "happiness journal" or something to that extent. Sara took it one step further and created a happiness blog. Please, check her out here. She is one of the coolest girls you will ever meet and a great friend.

Anyways, today was a great day, but I couldn't really figure out why it was. It was made up of a bunch of great small things. Thus, the idea for a 'sara' post.

Happiness is....

Patrick calling me KayKay
Janna & Amanda talking to me about weddings. Ah....sigh
Daddy-daughter yogurt land dates
Desert before dinner
Singing the "amanda"song to amanda as I walked past her desk
Cameron calling me "love" in my last letter
Awkwardly wearing the same shirt as the man I rode the elevator up with this morning. It was great.
Yummy bread
New carpet. It feels so nice on my feet-ys
Another massive project at work done and gone today
Two words: sassy pants
Voting for Mitt today in the primaries
Finishing an amazing book last night. "have a little faith," by mitch albulm. Go get it. Now.
Less than four months until the big arrival
Figgy meowing at the birdies out side
Watching a movie with my pops

I am one that believes a simple life is a beautiful life. I seriously had a great day, just because simple things made me so happy. I am so blessed to be where I am in life.

A Day At the Office

We got a pencil sharpener from staples. It is THE WORST sharpener ever. I seriously have to give it the "fonzie" tap in order to get it to work. Ryan didn't believe me & had to test it for himself.

Moving day reveals my dark secrets. Or in this case, my recycling initiative. I decided to recycle all the water bottles I drink by stuffing them in my drawer...Janna laughed at me & I found a box to recycle my bottles. This "going green" thing is really hard.

Happy 1st!

5.6.12

Today is my 1st anniversary as an employee of SOS Staffing.
One whole year.
The thought completely blows my mind. I can not believe I have been there a year.
I am so happy. I am so happy to have the perfect college student job with the perfect work family.
I have learned so much in this 1st year and suspect with the changes headed our way, I'll be learning a whole lot more.

On friday my boss & coworkers celebrated my anniversary.
Janna made fruit salad for the meeting (I like to think for me ;))
Diane took us all to lunch at the olive garden (yum!!) and everyone said really nice things about me
Then Janna presented me with my ONE YEAR certificate and fossil watch.
and for the cherry on top of a great day, Kristin brought us B&B frozen lemonade. This wasn't to celebrate me (like the fruit salad) but since this is my blog and my anniversary
I'm going to claim it was.

It was a fantastic day and I am truly so blessed to be where I'm at right now. I am one lucky girl.

the best treat. ever.

Sometimes, We Like to Walk

Sometimes Ann, Kristin, and I go for walks during lunch.
We chat, laugh, and burn off a little stress.
The best part of our lunch walks? The clash of office wear & work out wear.
Today, Kristin wins for best clash.

Please appreciate the large hill we hiked up & took this picture at.

This Is Getting Out of Hand

I seem to have a small obsession with yellow sticky notes at work.
I use them for everything. Notes, passwords, & reminders. I feel like I may need an intervention...or at least a clean sweep.

Happy Hour

sneak attack picture on Ryan...too bad he saw it coming.
I work with this face 24 hours a week.

Janna and the birthday girl Lynda

Ann, Kristin, and Me.

Sometimes it's great just to get away from the office and craziness for an hour.
Today was Lynda's celebratory birthday lunch.
We went to the Texas Roadhouse and bonded over meat. What's better?
Ryan and Kenton threw peanuts at my head and Kristin hit on our under-age waiter.
It was a good lunch, so we took pictures to prove it.

Once again (for the thousandth time) I love my job and the great people I work with.
seriously :)

23 December 2011

One. Nine.

Yesterday was my birthday and it was a very good day indeed.
I was spoiled rotten.
When I got to work my desk was decorated and completely trashed. (kind of like what kids in jr high do to your locker for your birthday....but so much cooler when it's in your cubical).
Janna surprised me with pink flowers to accompany my graduation plant. She said I had done a good job taking care of the other plant so it was time to get another...but honestly, we all know she's the reason my plants stay alive. But my new flowers are so pretty :)
Kristin made me these cute little wooden Christmas trees for my soon-to-be newly wed apt...haha they are adorable. We'll be dirt poor, but at least we'll have cute little trees for christmas.
Janna also baked me a jello cake with whipped cream frosting. It was do great. Who knew you could put jello in a cake?! Seriously. So great. I may have had a piece for breakfast today too.
I love my job.
Happy Birthday Hiphop. Classic
The sales team dumped their candy all over my desk.
Yes, I sure did leave it all decorated all day.
The trees Kristin made for me.
My jello-whipped cream cake. Mmmmmm
My parents also spoiled me. Mom made my favorite pasta dinner. Yes, I still smell like garlic. Not like I'm kissing anyone these days. Then we gathered in the living room for presents. I got my iPhone for my birthday...but also got tons if make up and accessories - basically kayla's favorite things, is what I got. My family truly goes all out on birthdays, and I love it :)

I had such a great day and am so blessed to have so many people in my life that love me and car about me.

Oh and something else great about this birthday? It's the last one before cam comes home. I have this strange feeling that next year he'll be giving me a little box with contents that rhyme with sing. And I can not wait.

No...I am not a lesbian.

But sometimes chelsea and I go on dates.
Last night we went to my first annual SOS Christmas Party. It was a fancy smacy party at the Little America that included shirley temples, mini deserts, and awkward dancing. It was completely awesome.
Chel and I got all dressed up and had to take pictures. Here the best of the night:

Red lipstick and a black dress.

Chel as cute as can be.

We have just about the same pose. We seem to hang out a lot.

At the dinner table.

Janna and Ann. My great work friends.
Our night also included nikki manaj, parking in a pay lot (without paying), running across 6th north (or south?) in heels, spotting a man dressed as a gingerbread man, going to temple square, and ending the night with hot chocolate in the navoo cafe. It was a super fun and hilarious night. As aways....

the life partners aways seem to have a good time.

In Case You Ever Wondered

For those of you who know me well, you know how much I absolutely love my job. I am so blessed. I began working at SOS Staffing in May, just before I graduated. I had worked at the bowling alley for two years, and was ready to progress in my work. I am the marketing assisant, and am constantly learning new things. Because of my wonderful job I have been able to purchase my own car and pay for my car insurance. I buy my own clothes and feel as those I'm taking steps to be independent. However, being able to be independent is not the biggest reason I love my job. Rather, it's the people I spend my time with. When you have a set working schedule you really become close to those you work with and work for. The immediate group I work with are the best. They are so witty and caring. Work truly is fun. I laugh my head off everyday! But today I realized just how great the presidents of my company are.
A little over a week ago my uncle chris passed away. In a lot of ways, it is a blessing for him. He was in a very horrible car wreck when I was little and became a quad, meaning he had no use of or feeling in his legs or arms, through the years his bodily hardships have gotten worse and worse. He had his legs amputated and constantly was in the hospital. He became very sick and passed away peacefully. He now is in a much happier place and I hope, is much happier. Today my aunt (his wife) received flowers from JoAnn, Kevin, and the SOS Family in condolences of our loss. JoAnn is the CEO and President of SOS and Kevin is the CFO of SOS. They got word of my families' hardship and took the iniative to send flowers to someone they've never met, in Detroit. How amazing is that? I seriously can not comprehend how amazingly caring the company I work for is. They truly treat their employees so well and I am so blessed to have the opportunity to work for such a great company. So in case anyone ever wondered why I love my job....there you have it.
