Fall Pictures Pt. 1

More to come....

CAMIE

SARA

KAYLA

Camie, Sara, and I took a little road trip this weekend and, of course, had to take some pictures along the way. I love those girls. We chatted about school and boys and life in general. We stopped and kneaders for some din din then hung out at my house for some glee and my crazy family.
I absolutely adore them both and am so grateful for the time I get to spend with each of them.
What a great day!

28, 29, 30 - Ready or Not Here I come

I don't want kids for at least ten years. Really. I want to get through school and spend years with my husband. Starting a family in my 30's is a-okay with me.
However...I do love kids. I love playing and being silly. My happy medium? Babysitting.
I love babysitting.

Tonight I baby sat the cutie Hoonakkers and their cousins. After house restlessness I decided we needed a trip to get ice cream (and more so play on the play land).
So we hiked it to the classy place around - A Circle.

Unfortunetly I forgot priesthood has just gotten out. (rooky mistake) I'm pretty sure everyone thought I was the mom of these four chillins and my hubby was at priesthood.
Or at least, that's how I felt

They had ice cream and played hide and go seek on the play ground. They made friends with other kids and I laughed. I remember the days of playground friends. You'd meet a kid and be best friends five minutes later. It was so simple. Little kids can teach us so much.

So Proud

All three of these sweet girls were baptized on Saturday.
I was blessed to be their primary teacher earlier this year.
They are so loving and so smart and have each taught me so much.
I am so proud of these little girls.

A Trip to Find Fall

Today instead of taking my usual Sunday nap, I headed up to Butterfield canyon to find fall.
About two and a half miles up the leaves have changed, and they are beautiful.
I parked my car and walked around like taking pictures of the leaves. Classic.
It was a beautiful afternoon, and a great beginning to a wonderful season.

Welcome back fall. I'm am beyond happy to see you.

A Little Place Called Mona

This weekend my cute friends and I made a little road trip to a southern town known as mona. It's the kind of a town where if you blink, you might miss it. We were in search of a pond we had seen on an engagement video that had a rope swing.

Yes, a rope swing. like the one in that fantastic movie, the notebook.
So we were adventurous, drove down, asked a mona native for directions, and made our way to the ponds.

We spent the afternoon jumping off rope into a pond. it was completely scary and gross, and yet, absolutely awesome.

The most important thing to know when jumping into a pond is to keep your mouth closed. Unless, of course, you like to swallow mysterious pond water.

We made little friends around the pond and laughed at the pack of hipsters that threw their toms on our pile of towels in order to make room for their bbq and guitar.

We also enjoy our stylish pond hair and the unlimited jokes that come from watching people jump into a pond. Oh, and creature jokes. Those never ever will get old.

It was a fantastic day with some great people. I love those girls. We ended our road trip blasting some summer classics with the windows down on the freeway. yes, mysterious black car, we were singing to you.

We spent the night together, along with miss aubree. Here are some keywords from our night's adventures.
Fire pitt, jamba, late night walmart, wolf shirt, bratty horse, melted spoon, rides in camie's truck, sliding into the window in camie's truck, chats in the living room, and mooning ashlee and aubree.

The inside of my thighs are completely bruised and I am beyond sore. But truly, it was so so worth it.

Great people. Great day. Mona, you are our new favorite place. We will see you soon.

And...Exhale

It's over. I made it through the week and it is all over.

Friday night patrick and I drove up to Hennifer to volunteer for Ragnar.
Just in case I never told you, I love running and LOVE ragnar. Sadly, because of a combination of factors, my team wasn't able to run Wasatch Back this year. I was craving ragnar. Darin, from work, asked me to be on his team a month or so ago, but that didn't work out, so I decided to volunteer for his team.
Our shift was from 11:30 to 4am. It was the best! We directed traffic and got to hangout with lots of insane runners. I talked to some of the crazies and got a way more compliments on my boots than I've ever have. I guess in the dark, after too much running, my boots look killer ;)
We danced to team's music and got free shirts. It smelled like ragnar and I was completely jealous.
SO...I am on a mission to put together a vegas team. My mom is on board, so I think we're set. The best part? Vegas ragnar is November 9 & 10. I'll have a boyfriend then. Guess who is going to run ragnar with my crazy team? I could not be happier. I feel like this will be the best test of our love ever. Sure, we can be apart for two years and still be in love....BUT, can we make it through ragnar without killing each other? I guess we'll find out. I am stoked!!

Patrick and I made it home around 5:15am on saturday and took a long summer's nap. Actually, we just went to bed and I could only sleep 5 hours, but that's basically the same thing right? For whatever reason I couldn't sleep so I went for a run and ended up running fivish miles and getting one heck of a sunburn. Oh yeah, it's summer and I have orange hair. I forgot how that works.

After my run I spent all day working on my father's day talk. seriously, all day. It was a ten minute talk that took me ten hours to write. I guess that's how it works. As nervous as I was though, I really enjoyed everything I learned about and read. I guess there really is no better way to learn than to have to teach. Let's just say, I am SO happy to have that over with. I am so grateful for all my friends in the ward. I kept focusing on friendly faces. Annie (probably the cutest girl in the world) saw me up on the stand and started sticking her tongue out at me. I looked around and stuck my tongue out at her. It's funny how the silliest things can calm your nerves.

As soon as I was done speaking I was instantly relieved and was able to enjoy the superb speakers afterwards, one of which included Brother Robertson. Have I ever mentioned how much I love that family? because I do. Every little family that makes up that family is special to me. He calmed my nerves prior to my talk and made me cry during his talk. After words he told me if he had a sign, he'd give me a ten. Then Borther Malonea (that's def. spelled wrong), who is also part of that amazing family, came up and gave me a hug. He told me I am progressing so well and that I did an awesome job. See how great these people are? I love them! My ward made me calm down and feel special. I love them so much.

Last night I went and saw Ann's play at the Murray Amphitheater, Joesph and the Technicolor Dream Coat. It was amazing. I love going to her shows. They are always so fun and done so well. I sat alone because I couldn't find my co-workers, but made some great friends sitting by me. One man's son played one of the servants. He was so proud of his son and kept telling me all about him. Fathers are cute. As I was sitting there I was thinking how ready I am to no longer be a loner at things or even better, a third wheel. Yes, I am much better at making friends with strangers, but I can't wait to have my cam man with me.

And now, here on sunday afternoon I am wasting time on the computer curled up on my bed, feeling a million times better than I did this past week. Hopefully my headache will go away and this week will be more enjoyable than all the stress of the past one.

A Summer Weekend in Pictures

I'm not sure what's going on here, but I love it. Haha
Just a Saturday night hike.
Moving day, part one.
Sara takes pictures of us mid-laugh. I missed my life partner.
Mustache mugs!
My friend, Stache.
Swim hair & a mustache.
Great friends.

Friday night Camie & I went swimming. We went of the diving boards a few times, chatted in the water, and we were out & on the way home and hour later. It was a short and sweet pool trip, and super fun. Then, camie and I ran home and got ready for a night of adventures. We stopped at yogurt land (of course) and then picked up ashlee. We went to the dollar store and came home with white mugs. We painted mustaches on them and chatted. Then miss sara came over and we chatted some more. Have I mentioned how much I've missed my friends? Because really, I have.

Saturday I came home to a Uhaul parked in my drive way. It was a truly bizarre feeling to pack up my house and load it into a truck. We decided to put anything we didn't absolutely need into storage so that when we get new carpet we won't have to move as much furniture & so that our house looks a lot bigger when people start looking at it. It was an all day project rewarded by my favorite, a moose tracks shake from artic circle.
That night, Camie, Sara, Chel, and I decided to "stroll" up ensign peak. We chatted all the way up and took pictures at the top. We made friends with a couple at the top and admired the sunset for a couple of minutes then booked it down. Sara was craving a Frutista freeze so we headed to T.B. Along the way we listened to Call Me Maybe & American Pie. Is there a better combination? We retired to Chel's house, facebook stalked her boyfriend, then cuddled to watch Friday Night Lights. I teared up, again and Sara cried. That is one heck of a show. Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can't Loose.

I have missed these girls so very much and had a fabulous weekend laughing with them.

Pictures & a Quote to Sum Up My Life (lately)

pictures

I repainted my dresser last weekend & am completely in love.
This weekend I put the final touches on it.
I can't wait for my new bedroom and the tricks I have up my sleeve to make it stinking cool.
Blue dresser? Probably the coolest thing I've ever created.

Today (may 20th) is cameron's 19 month anniversary.
19! The thought completely blows my mind.
I have not seen that man in 19th months & it kind of seems like it was just yesterday.
I never thought I'd make it here, kind of like I still don't feel like I'll ever make it to October.
And yet, I will & it will be completely worth it.
Our countdown chain is down to four links. nbd.

And those girls? I super happy to have them back from school this summer.
They are the best friends, truly.
We made dinner this week & cuddled while watching the vow.
Last week we watched the lucky one.
Chick flicks make for good saturday nights.
They also visited me on a DI run.
It's so easy to have fun with them & I love it. I missed you both dearly.
Here's to great summer adventures that await us.

...and a quote

I Went Back to Panem this Weekend

I finally had the kind of a weekend that I have been craving for months. A weekend with no plans and no commitments. After work on friday I went for a run and decided that what I longed to do more than anything was read. Lame perhaps, but I am a girl that finds happiness in the simplest of things. So I went home, put on my sweats, and traveled to Panem. It's been far too long since I visited and 800 some pages later I'm sad that I soon have to leave. I read the hunger games friday, catching fire saturday, and hope to finish mocking jay tonight.
Don't fool yourself, however, I'm not a complete freak. I managed to leave my book for a couple things this weekend:

I ran a 10k (6.2 miles) bright & early Saturday morning with my Dad. I ran it in 62 minutes. I was hoping for under an hour, but I feel as if 62 minutes is respectable. It was beautiful weather and was a great race. The first of many this season.
PS. please excuse my disgusting face. I look high & gross. I promise I'm much cuter in real life.
I convinced Ashlee to go with me to get my favorite treat: frozen yogurt. And even better, at menchies they have heated peanut butter that you can drizzle over the top. It's basically a marriage of my two favorite foods.
Cute ashy with her yogurt. I won't even mention the toy they gave us with our purchases. Ash loved it WAY too much.
Also, I now have a new bucket list item. I will be attending the Kentucky Derby, preferably sitting in Millionaire Row, wearing an extravagant hat cheering for a horse with a name like
"I'll have another."
